If you are looking for a durable, stylish and easy-to-maintain tabletop for your dining room, kitchen or living room. You might consider quartz stone tabletop.
What is Quartz Stone?
Quartz stone is an engineered stone that consists of natural quartz crystals and resin. It has many advantages over other types of tabletops, such as granite, marble or porcelain slabs.
How to Choose the Right Quartz Stone Tabletop for Your Home?
Before you buy a quartz stone tabletop, there are some factors that you need to consider: –
The Colour & Style
Quartz stone has huge colour option. You must choose a quartz stone tabletop that complements your room’s décor and theme.
You can opt for a neutral colour that matches any style, such as white, grey or beige, or a more vibrant colour that adds contrast and interest, such as blue, green or red.
The Pattern & Textured
You can also select a patterned or textured quartz stone tabletop that adds more depth and character to your room, such as a marble vein plus wood grain option to create a natural feeling.
Most quartz stone is polished. However, some suppliers offer matt, concrete or rough finish. Request to touch the sample to feel it. Choose the finish you like.
The Stone Thickness
12mm, 13mm, 15mm, and 20mm are the most common thickness available in Malaysia. Each colour has one or two thickness options. For example, super white only has a thickness of 15mm. While Calacatta Nuvo has 13mm and 20mm options.
After you choose the colour, you must finalize the thickness. Then, let your contractor or carpenter know the thickness so that they know the space reserved for your tabletop installation.
The Type of Sink
What type of sink do you like? Double bowl, single big bowl, multifunction sink, granite sink or others?
Shall you go for a top mount, under mount or flush mount?
We highly recommend using an under-mount sink to prevent potential leakage problems. But again, you’re the one using the sink. Choose the one you like the most.
Buy the sink first before ordering a quartz stone tabletop. The stone installer needs to cut the sinkhole based on your sink shape and mount type.
The Front Edging
The standard front edging for a wood cabinet is 40-50mm, and 100mm for a cement base. However, we could customise the front edging based on your design.
The standard is 50mm. You can also customise it to 100mm or 650mm until the top cabinet. It affects the overall look of your table’s design.
Compare before the Final Decision
You must compare the prices and the quality of different quartz stone suppliers and manufacturers.
Purchasing a poor-quality quartz stone tabletop ruins the quality of your living.
We all don’t want stain, chip off and crack after a few months of using the tabletop. Changing a new set of tabletops is a big hassle.
You should look for a reputable and reliable company that offers high-quality quartz stone products at reasonable prices.
You should also check the warranty and after-sales service of the company.
